It is an operation performed at the Regina Margherita in Turin by the hand surgeons of the CTO, directed by Bruno Battiston, on a 4-year-old child who was the victim of an accident.

Battiston's surgical team, assisted by the head of reconstructive microsurgery, Davide Ciclamini, and the head of peripheral nerve surgery, Paolo Titolo, transferred bone, tendon and soft tissue from a toe to the finger using a microscope to robotic guide at very high magnification.
The Robotic Scope, this is its name, transmits the image of the operating field to a pair of glasses used by the operator, who in this way can work in greater ergonomics, but above all being able to use the protective suit in positive Covid cases, which is impossible with traditional microscopes that do not allow for the use of the interposition of protections between the surgeon's eyes and the work system.
These days the new roboscopic instrument is also used for some interventions at the Molinette hospital in Turin in the university neurosurgery departments, directed by Professor Diego Garbossa, for both cranial and spinal interventions and in the University Otolaryngology divisions, directed by Professor Roberto Albera , and University Maxillofacial Surgery, directed by Professor Guglielmo Ramieri.
