(ANSA) - LONDON, JAN 27 - Boris Johnson announced in Parliament the ban on travel between the United Kingdom and 22 countries of South America and Southern Africa and Portugal to avoid the importation of the Brazilian and South African variants of Covid, as well as the obligation of precautionary quarantine in supervised facilities "made available by the government, as a hotel", for British residents and citizens returning from those countries. For the premier, traveling for tourism and leaving the house without justification remains "illegal" based on the lockdown and that the port and airport authorities will have to verify the reasons for departing travelers and, in case, refuse boarding.
