At 106, Colette Maze never leaves her piano. The instrument, majestic in the center of its living room, occupies the days of this centenary.

“You cannot be indifferent to it” exclaims Colette Maze on the last notes of a “Milonga del Angel” by Astor Piazzolla.

At 106, this Parisian spends her days sitting in front of her piano.

She goes on to Satie, Debussy, Ravel.

“Anyway, I'm not going out,” says Colette.

To the question, "are you staying confined because of the Covid-19?"

», The centenary remains vague, not really knowing what is going on outside her apartment, on the 14th floor of a building in the 15th arrondissement of Paris.

“What I want is to play,” she says.

A graduate of the Normal School of Paris, Colette Maze maintains her health and impeccable maintenance.

“Thanks to the piano, my wrists are still flexible,” she says after doing a few rotations, to the right, then to the left.

For her, the piano helps "stay in shape".

"In addition to making music, I dance" adds after having followed a few steps of foxtrot, which she claims to do "at the same time to play".

At the corner of the coffee table in her living room, is placed her fifth album (at Continuo Classics) devoted to Satie and Debussy.

A "pride", which reminds her of her early years, when she and her son lived on the ground floor of the same building.

“He could hear the piano all the time,” says Colette.

“And one day, while listening to a lot of recorded music, he said to me 'Why aren't you doing it?'.

And that's what pushed me to make recordings that I never thought I'd do ”.
