(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, JAN 28 - The EU Commission has decided to extend the temporary state aid scheme set up last March to support the economies during the pandemic until 31 December 2021.
The support will continue to take place through direct grants, tax advantages, tax guarantees on loans, subsidized public loans to businesses, as has been the case so far.
"The impact of Covid is still strong, we must act quickly to manage it," said the EU Commission President, Margrethe Vestager.
