(ANSA) - ROME, JANUARY 28 - The American economy contracted by 3.5% in 2020. This is the largest decline since 1946.


    In the fourth quarter it grew by 4.0%, below the expectations of analysts who bet on +4 ,2%.

The increase in GDP in the last three months of the year follows + 33.4% in the third quarter and -31.4% in the second.

To weigh is the pandemic that in the last three months of the year forced new restrictions by penalizing economic activity.
