2021 is starting under the best auspices for video games made in France.
Last week, the Bordeaux studio Asobo, which designed the
Flight Simulator
aerial simulation on behalf of Microsoft
, announced that it had raised 20 million euros from the French fund Sagard NewGen.
This transaction values the company at 65 million euros.
On Wednesday evening, it was the turn of the Parisian Dontnod to reveal the entry into its capital of a leading player: Tencent.
The Chinese video game giant has invested 30 million euros and now owns 22% of the capital of the creators of the
internationally successful
Life is Strange
saga
.
The news made Dontnod's stock jump by more than 10%, with a market valuation of 93 million euros.
