(ANSA) - TURIN, 29 JAN - He killed his wife and son, barely 5 years old, and then attempted suicide by jumping off the balcony of the house.

It happened around 3 o'clock this night in a house in Carmagnola (Turin), where the Carabinieri arrested a 39-year-old Italian.

The double murder at the height of a family quarrel for reasons yet to be ascertained.

The man is hospitalized at the Cto of Turin, not in danger of life, guarded in a state of custody by the same soldiers of the Arma who intervened upon notification of the neighbors.

The technical surveys of the Investigative Unit of the Provincial Command of Turin are in progress.

   The family tragedy took place in a building in via Barbaroux.

To kill his wife, also 39, and his son, the man would use a blunt object.

On the spot the findings of the carabinieri continue, investigating the reasons for the double murder.

The man, guarded in the hospital, is not in danger of life.
