The Arera, he explained, "brings a wealth of skills and knowledge of the sectors into which these investments will fall. Energy, water, waste, are sectors that, in terms of relaunch and Green New Deal, play a central role and It is important - Besseghini warned - to have a knowledge of operators and of the sector, because the incentive mechanisms often meet negative fates and not consistent with initial expectations ".

But for the president of Arera, the Authority can also play an important role in the important dossier of the Recovery Fund, a topic at the center of the political agenda and for which Arera will have a commitment "in the accountability of investments and their reporting. towards the Commission ".

Urgencies that, however, at the moment, must await the resolution of a complicated political crisis, to which the ARERA is also watching carefully: "The sectors we regulate, energy, water, waste, have a great impact on the lives of citizens - explained Besseghini - . Issues that require constant work between the regulatory framework and the rules that come from Parliament and the government. It is a continuous exchange, a construction site that is always open. When one of the participants in the construction site stops for a moment, the work risks being subjected to some slowdown. We hope that things will evolve rapidly, to restore the effectiveness of the processes that is important ".
