Germany's healthcare system is not exactly known for generous salaries.

That is why many are drawn abroad.

A study shows in which countries women find the best working conditions.

A generous salary, moderate working hours and enough vacation time to recover from the stressful everyday working life: this is what most healthcare workers in Germany dream of.

However, the reality looks different, as the

Corona crisis

has

just

shown *: Doctors who work 24-hour shifts in the hospital and overloaded nurses are the order of the day here.

There is also a considerable gender pay gap that disadvantages women in terms of salaries.

Many people are therefore drawn to other European countries during their training.

But in which countries do you work best, especially for women?

A study by the contact lens

supplier Lenstore

investigated

this question

, in which the

working conditions in 30 European countries were

examined

.

The average salary, working hours, number of vacation days and the percentage of women in the sector were included in the evaluations.

France

scores points in the study with an abundant 34 vacation days and the highest number of women studying medicine.

Dutch women doctors

have the lowest weekly working hours at just 25 hours.

They get an average salary of 42,276 euros.

And

Finland has

the highest number of women working in the health sector

with a percentage of 86%

.

71,422 euros

3

5

Ireland

This is why Germany does so badly

Why is Germany only 18th in a European comparison?

According to the

Lenstore

study, this is

due,

on the one hand, to the fact that Germany's

gender pay gap is

quite high

at 25 percent.

On the other hand, women are

only

entitled

to an

average of

22 vacation days

.

In terms of gender equality in the healthcare system, Germany can definitely learn something from its neighbor France.
