In the process of hiding the weapons of a Bundeswehr soldier from the Special Forces Command (KSK) from Saxony, an explosives expert described the seized materials as operational.
A specialist could have caused massive damage with the explosives and the detonators, said the police expert at the Leipzig Regional Court.
A single block of explosives on or in a car could have completely destroyed the vehicle and killed all its occupants.
Even hidden in a suitcase under the bank of a bus stop, the explosives would have had a devastating effect, the expert explained.
The amount seized would not have been enough to bring down a building or a bridge.

The 45-year-old accused had admitted the alleged acts at the start of the trial.
After his own review, however, he assumed that the material involved was unusable.
The elite soldier, who has meanwhile been suspended, has to answer for violations of the War Weapons Control Act, the Weapons Act and the Explosives Act.
During a search of the defendant's property in Collm, Saxony, last May, the investigators found, among other things, two kilograms of professional explosives, several thousand pieces of rifle and pistol ammunition, an AK47 assault rifle, a crossbow, a smoke hand grenade, as well as firearms and weapon parts - including one Silencer.
