Twelve educational complexes spread over the area of the Damascus countryside, and from its basic mission of linking the Directorate of Education and the schools branching out several tasks and objectives, starting with managing the transactions of teachers, teachers, students and students, passing through facilitating administrative work and relieving pressure on the directorate, leading to supervising the progress of the educational process and exams in the existing schools Within its work and securing its requirements.
The educational complexes are distributed in the countryside of Damascus, according to the Director of Education Maher Faraj, between Nabek, Qatifah, Yabroud, Zabadani, Qudsaya, al-Kiswah, Eastern and Western Ghouta, Douma, Nashabiyeh, al-Tal, and Qatna, all of which operate under the direct supervision of the Directorate.
Faraj explained to the representative of SANA that the tasks of the complexes are to oversee the progress of the educational process and the examination in the schools located within the educational areas, and to coordinate with the specialized and educational mentors to secure the educational frameworks in them, and to provide direct services to workers in the field of education, secure health services, pay wages, collect data and statistics necessary, and work to reduce the burden on teachers and students And students by providing services and information within the administrative boundaries of each complex without the need to review the directorate in the governorate center.
Faraj referred to the role of the complexes in carrying out maintenance for schools after a number of them were subjected to terrorism and following up the implementation of the health protocol through its school clinics, as well as restoring educational vacancies as a result of their direct contact with the local community and their greater contact with reality.
The Directorate of Education in Damascus Countryside has about 1,400 schools distributed in all regions, comprising 725,000 students, according to Faraj, who emphasized the endeavor to rehabilitate all schools damaged as a result of the terrorist war. Since the beginning of 2018, about 280 schools in various regions have been repaired in addition to conducting maintenance for nearly 700 schools and work. In cooperation with the Damascus Countryside Governorate and a number of international organizations, the restoration of about 30 other schools, to enter service in turn.

The educational complex in Al-Kiswah, according to Al-Fahhad, serves about 23 villages and includes 84 public and private schools, kindergartens, private and Islamic schools, indicating that the number of its students is about 40 thousand students and the number of teachers is about 1033 teachers and about 500 instructors.
Mayada Salih is responsible for the secondary section in the complex. She indicated that she carries out the tasks related to Al-Kiswah high schools and everything that would reduce the burden of going to the Education Directorate and providing any statistics or responding to any request regarding vacancies or the number of students or teachers and other services, while Juliet Tarboush pointed out the responsible On the authority of the Agents Department, that its work is focused on registering any proxy teacher, registering direct and disassociation requests, and everything related to the agent’s teachers ’papers to confirm them for the benefit of the complex.
Various tasks related to vocational schools, including industrial, commercial and women, including recording their monthly data and everything related to the number of students present and affiliated with these schools in addition to the teachers.
Manar Sukkar is an employee at the complex, who stated that her duties are limited to vocational education affairs, which includes 4 schools in the Kiswa area.
While the educational complex in the suburb of Qudsaya has 43 schools in the first cycle, 12 schools in a second cycle, 19 secondary schools and a banking technical institute, and its building includes 4 kindergartens, two schools of the first and middle school, and a secondary school for girls, an administrative building and a school theater according to the secretary of basic education in the educational complex, Nairouz Kabbani.
Regarding the tasks of the complex, Qabbani mentioned, including providing textbooks and monitoring the movement of teachers from one school to another, in addition to other tasks imposed by the spread of the Coronavirus, such as distributing sterilizers, detergents, temperature measuring devices, masks, and others.
The supervisor of the Eastern Ghouta Educational Complex, Khaled Al-Souda, indicated that the complex represents an integrated work team that supervises schools and addresses all their problems and proposes the formation of administrative cadres and the appointment of agents and delegates to fill vacancies in schools in addition to that the complex is the link between the Directorate of Education and the schools.
Al-Soudah explained that the number of operational schools in the complex is 102, and the number of students exceeds 70,000 students in the Eastern Ghouta region, indicating that since the liberation of Eastern Ghouta, about 77 schools have reopened and work is underway to rehabilitate 53 schools.
