The last tranche of the winter
sales
arrives
: today end-of-season sales will also start in Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany and Veneto, the last regions to kick off the 2021 sales, which began in other areas of Italy as early as January 2.
"But it was a false start", explains Fabio Tinti, President of Fismo Confesercenti.
"Unfortunately, in the regions where end-of-season sales have already begun, the expected results have not yet been achieved: the balance sheet, for now, is a 40% decline compared to last year. The hope is that the progressive the easing of the restrictive measures will allow a clear reversal of the trend in the coming weeks ".
Fismo invites consumers to "rediscover the physical establishments of our cities for their purchases. Online has enjoyed in 2020, thanks to repeated closures, a condition of absolute privilege, also benefiting from tax privileges. The balances can represent a great opportunity for convenient purchases but also a choice to enhance local trade. Just what contributes to enhancing the quality of life in our villages ".
Fearing new closures "not for lockdown, but for discontinuation of activity", Tinti therefore asks, "among the measures that could help the sector to survive, the scrapping of inventories, the extension of the sales and refreshments season that take into account the turnover pre-pandemic ".
