Apparently there was a homicide in Cloppenburg, Lower Saxony.
The police found a dead boy and a dead woman in an apartment in the north of the county seat that afternoon.
Both had stab wounds.
According to the "Nordwest Zeitung" the boy was six years old.
A 30-year-old was arrested on site, the police said.
He is suspected to have killed the two and did not resist the arrest, it said.
The relationship between the three people was initially unclear.
There was also no information on a possible motive.
The investigation continues.
