The World Health Organization last night (Friday) updated its guidelines for vaccinating pregnant women against corona, and removed its opposition except in exceptional cases.

That is, unless it is a high-risk, the recommendation is to vaccinate against the virus, the New York Times reported.

To date, the organization has not recommended vaccinating pregnant women with Pfizer and Modern vaccines, which has provoked much protest in the medical community.

Some experts have expressed disappointment with this position.

According to them, this was a directive that did not comply with the position of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the United States, which could cause confusion among women.

According to experts, the vaccines made by Pfizer and Moderna have not been tested on pregnant women, but they have not shown negative effects in animal studies.

In addition, the technology in which the vaccines were manufactured has been proven to be safe.

Meanwhile in Israel, the Ministry of Health and the experts in the field of gynecology this week expanded the recommendation to vaccinate pregnant women to all pregnant women, but advise them not to do so in the first trimester.

According to the new recommendation, it is recommended that all pregnant women get vaccinated in the second or third trimester.

The reason for avoiding immunization in the first trimester is circumstantial.

According to experts, "the first trimester of pregnancy (regardless of coronary heart disease) is characterized by a relatively high rate of bleeding, miscarriages and the formation of fetal malformations. "Get vaccinated from the second trimester."
