(ANSA) - MONZA, 31 JAN - Six young Afghans, four of whom are aged four, were saved by the carabinieri after being discovered traveling crammed into an articulated lorry coming from Serbia, among dozens of tires, stopped in Caponago (Monza).
They had been traveling for eight months to arrive in Serbia, at the Bogovadja refugee camp.
To give the alarm - last Thursday evening, but the news has now spread - was the driver of the vehicle, a Macedonian citizen, who while he was waiting to unload in an industrial area heard voices coming from inside the truck.
The carabinieri and the 118 rescuers intervened on the spot.
The two adults were included in the Sprar, the Protection System for asylum seekers and refugees, while the four minors were accompanied to shelters at the Milan Juvenile Court.
The investigations will now have to ascertain the network that organized their trip.
