With this album it shows if Grand Corps Malade has hit the nail on the head.
A seventh opus with a feminist tone for this slammer who declaims rather than sings.
Despite the resounding success of his first record fourteen years ago, the variety world never imagined that this artist would last, he was so out of the ordinary.
And yet, here is his seventh CD, entitled
Mesdames
!
(Label Anouche Production)
Twelve titles devoted to women and as many duets recorded alongside artists like Véronique Sanson, Louane, Laura Smet or Camille Lellouche ... Grand Corps Malade - Fabien Marsaud of his real name - will not have had too much trouble to convince these actresses or singers from different generations to share this adventure.
Of course, he will have met two refusals - the slammer does not want to name anyone - but all the others have enthusiastically joined the project.
Once his team had been formed, he started writing texts specially designed for each of them.
And rather than composing these a cappella recitatives as he is used to, he “
stuck
” to the music that the Swiss DJ Mosimann had concocted for him beforehand.
The ensemble was then recorded at Studio Garage, in Paris.

With this album, Grand Corps Malade is in tune with the times: we can feel the maturity of a 42-year-old father who has nothing to prove.
"To
see a pregnant woman, to attend a childbirth, that increases tenfold the admiration that one can have for women
", he said in reference to the famous "
woman is the future of man
" written by Aragon and sung by Ferrat, which he does not fail to quote in one of his texts.
This beautiful album, released last September, reached 140,000 sales without having been promoted or worn by any concert - confinement requires.
Like the others, he misses the stage.
From the spring, he plans a tour in small theaters before performing in the fall in around thirty large venues throughout France.
