The director of EL PAÍS, Javier Moreno, has appointed Eugenia de la Torriente as deputy director of the newspaper.
De la Torriente will promote the creation of content in the areas of culture, magazines and lifestyle with the aim of generating a coordinated, compact and relevant offer in digital and printed editions.
Moreno has also appointed a new deputy director, Maribel Marín, who will be responsible for the weekend's content.
De la Torriente will coordinate the sections on Culture and Screens and People and the
Babelia
and
El Viajero
, as well as
El País Semanal
and
Icon
and
S Moda
magazines
.
He will lead innovation in the field of events and experiences, creating a proposal of high journalistic and creative value for readers.
De la Torriente has a degree in Audiovisual Communication from Pompeu Fabra University.
She began her career as a fashion editor at the trend magazine

in 1998 and in 2001 she joined the editorial staff of the newspaper EL PAÍS, where she worked until November 2014 and where she was chief editor of
El País Semanal
, Revista Sábado and EL PAÍS Estilo. .
In December 2014, she was appointed director of
Harper's Bazaar

magazine
, published since then by the Hearst group.
In January 2017, she became director of
Vogue Spain,
published by the Condé Nast group, a position she held until December 2020.
Montserrat Domínguez, until now deputy director in charge of
El País Semanal
and the weekend magazines, will be responsible for the newspaper's audio project.
The journalist was already closely linked to this area through the Extra-EPS podcast, which she starred in every week, among other productions.
Maribel Marín Yarza, until now chief editor of the Society section, will be deputy director for the weekend.
Marín has a degree in Journalism from the University of Navarra.
She began her career as a collaborator at the Europa Press agency in 1996, where she worked until the reopening of the EL PAÍS delegation in the Basque Country in May 1997. She has worked in the Culture sections, in the

The head of the Culture section, Tereixa Constenla, has been appointed correspondent in Lisbon.
Constenla, who started working at EL PAÍS in 1991, has specialized in history and literature.
Elena G. Sevillano, with experience in the sections of Economy, Society and National, among others, reports already from Berlin.
The new correspondent in Germany has been linked to the newspaper for 14 years and in the last year has focused her reporting on the coronavirus.
Guiomar del Ser, with 20 years of experience in EL PAÍS, is the new editor-in-chief of Editorial Product and Lab. It is a transversal team, made up of design and development specialists.
Its purpose is to launch innovative digital projects, expanding the variety of narrative formats that take advantage of the resources offered by the Internet and thus improve the experience of readers in the different outputs of EL PAÍS, mainly the web and mobile applications.
Del Ser has been in charge of the Lab for the last three years and has coordinated the implementation of ARC, the newspaper's operating platform to improve the reader's experience and streamline the production and distribution of digital content.
