, a mix of swing and irony, with which he tried the road to Sanremo without being chosen among the big names.
"Even at the Festival - says the artist - the characters are rewarded and not the musicians. What counts is the chatter. It doesn't matter if you know how to do something or not, but the cloud around you counts".
This is true, in his opinion, in music as in football, in politics as in journalism.
"We are surrounded by singers who do not sing and by self-styled VIPs who are VIPs by trade", he observes.
"Since - explains Sergio Caputo - I work as a singer and composer in Italian (even if I am starting my apprenticeship in France, see 'Sergio Caputo en France'), I sometimes present a song in Sanremo that stands as the
'Song Festival Italian
'. Since the song is my job, I should logically take part, as well as, if I made the director would try to attend the film festival, if I were the designer to fashion shows or if fabbricassi would look for tractors to be present at the fairs agriculture ... ", he adds.

'Gossip', the song nominated for this year's Festival, with the intention of performing it in a trio as it was recorded, speaks precisely of this somewhat superficial dimension, often detached from the reality of things.
"The fact that it was not accepted in Sanremo - he adds - nothing changes in my project of the EP in trio which in fact I published and is already starting to be broadcast on the radio. The meaning of the song is that we live in an era in which the success and gossip are proportionally linked. No gossip, no success. Today much of the TV is designed to generate gossip, which in turn will bounce the audience by intriguing the audience. Since I am only interested in the Festival if I participate, I go on with my career and I publish my songs without taking care of them. I can't wait - he concludes - that closures and confinements end in order to be able to return to the stage with my trio, precisely, in the dimension that I love most, that of live music ".
In the meantime, this EP allows him to put the spotlight on the two musicians who accompany him: Fabiola Torresi and Alessandro Marzi.
"In times of Covid and confinement, the EP was recorded in 'remote', that is, everyone from his home in Skype connections".
