According to L'Équipe, Canal + did not participate in the call for tenders which took place this Monday morning. The group chaired by Maxime Saada had doubly contested the consultation of the Professional Football League (LFP), before the Commercial Court of Paris but also with the Competition Authority. The encrypted channel wanted a total overhaul of the TV rights of the French football championship. But the League has decided to put on sale only the matches left vacant by Mediapro, or 80% of L1 and L2 for a total of 830 million euros annually between 2020 and 2024. Canal + estimating to have overpaid for the lot of meetings acquired from beIN Sports for 330 million euros.
