Three years after actress Evan Rachel Wood first publicly reported her abuse experiences, she now names the alleged perpetrator: It is her ex-boyfriend, the singer Marilyn Manson.
"The name of the perpetrator is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson," Wood wrote on Instagram Monday morning.
"He started grooming me when I was a teenager and abused me horribly for years."
Wood, now 33, met Manson at the age of 18.
Manson was 36 years old at the time.
The two were in a relationship with a few interruptions until 2010.
In 2018, Wood shared her own experiences for the first time before a committee of the US House of Representatives as part of a legislative initiative to protect victims of abuse: “My experience with domestic violence is: toxic mental, physical and sexual abuse that started slowly and escalated over time;
Death threats, gaslighting, and brainwashing;
to wake up while the man I thought loved me raped my thought-unconscious body. "
Allegations from four other women
Even then it was speculated who it might be, but Wood hadn't given a name.
Until now.
"I'm sick of living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail," she wrote in the Instagram post.
"I'm here to expose this dangerous man and the many industries that have protected him before he ruins even more lives." She also spoke of "many victims who will no longer be silent."
In fact, at least four other women went public with allegations against Manson on Monday, Vanity Fair reports.
Including the models Ashley Lindsay Morgan and Sarah McNeill.
They too make serious allegations against Manson.
McNeill wrote on Instagram that Manson first attracted her with "Love bombing" and then "emotionally abused, terrorized and injured".
"Love bombing" is what psychologists call a strategy in the abuse cycle in which the perpetrator initially showered his victim with love in order to bind them to him.
McNeill wrote, "I was locked in rooms when I was 'nasty', sometimes listening to him having fun with other women next door.
He isolated her from many of her friends and if she disobeyed him, he threatened with violence.
"I was thrown against the wall and he threatened to hit my face with a baseball bat he was holding," McNeill said.
She is still struggling with mental health problems and post-traumatic stress disorder.
She supports everyone who has already reported their experiences with the alleged perpetrator and everyone who would still do so, said McNeill.
"I want Brian to be held accountable for his vicious deeds."
Model Ashley Lindsay Morgan also reports deprivation of liberty, sexual abuse and emotional pressure.
“I wasn't allowed to eat, sleep, or go out.
I was woken up to loud music when I fell asleep.
He made me feel like it was 'our thing' that he cut me, burned me and put his fist in my mouth, ”she wrote on Instagram.
She broke her silence because she wanted to end his actions, Morgan said.
"I know that he still does this with changing young girls and that it causes irreversible damage."
Allegations against Marilyn Manson had already become public in 2018.
As part of the MeToo movement, the Hollywood Reporter reported on a complaint against Manson for sexual offenses and deprivation of liberty.
However, the case was dropped due to a lack of evidence.
Manson's attorney at the time also announced that his client had denied all allegations that they were "either completely delusional or part of a calculated attempt to generate public attention."
Marilyn Manson has not yet commented on the current allegations.
