The Walter Lübcke School in Wolfhagen in North Hesse received a threatening letter last week.
Now the educational institution is to be monitored by video.
This was agreed during a conversation with the police and the school, said a spokesman for the Kassel district.
The Hessian State Criminal Police Office (LKA) had also commissioned a risk analysis.
It should be checked whether there are other sensible ways to secure the school.
The school bears its name in memory of the Kassel District President Walter Lübcke, who was murdered for right-wing extremist motives.
Last Thursday, 47-year-old Stephan Ernst was sentenced to life imprisonment in the case.
The co-defendant Markus H. was acquitted of the allegation of aiding and abetting, but received a suspended sentence for violating the weapons law.
In the meantime, both men and the federal prosecutor's office have appealed.
Before the verdict, pupils from the Wolfhagen School had held a vigil at the Frankfurt Higher Regional Court and, among other things, called for harsher criminal prosecution of right-wing extremist violence.
The next day, a bomb threat was received by email.
The police announced that there were indications of political motivation and initiated an investigation.
The author of the letter is called "NSU 2.0," the Hessian State Criminal Police Office (LKA) told SPIEGEL.
The police took the threat seriously, but nothing suspicious was found on the school grounds.
Right-wing extremist threatening letters with the code "NSU 2.0" have been sent since summer 2018.
The abbreviation refers to the »National Socialist Underground«, which carried out ten murders for racist motives in Germany between 2000 and 2007.
According to the »HR«, the mail at the Walter-Lübcke-Schule was discovered late and therefore had no effect on the school operations.
According to the LKA, there was no danger to schoolchildren or teachers at any time
