: the more people work from home, the lower the likelihood of contracting SARS-CoV-2 at work or on the way there.
But while some are happy to be able to work at home in peace, others experience home office increasingly as a stress factor.
As a study by the Technical University (TU) Chemnitz in cooperation with the Techniker Krankenkasse (TK) found out, around 60 percent of those surveyed stated in spring 2020 that the
boundaries between work and private life are blurred in the home office
.
A quarter (24 percent) found this situation stressful.
Burnout in the home office: Working women with small children in particular are exhausted
Women with small children in particular felt particularly exhausted due to the double burden.
“The load increased again noticeably in the phases of particularly strong corona restrictions, for example when schools and daycare centers were closed.
Overall,
women are much more exposed to and affected by burnout than men,
”the Techniker Krankenkasse quotes the study director Professor Dr.
Bertolt Meyer (TU Chemnitz).
