The Ministry of Health reported this Thursday of 8,891 infections and 162 new deaths (89 men and 68 women) reported in the last 24 hours.
With these numbers, the total number of infected in Argentina is 1,961,635 and the deceased reached 48,701.
"52,557 tests were carried out and since the beginning of the outbreak 6,393,504 diagnostic tests were carried out for this disease, which is equivalent to 140,898 samples per million inhabitants," they reported in the statement.
The health portfolio reported 3,570 hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for Covid-19, with a percentage of total occupancy of adult beds of 54.7% in the Nation and 61.2% in the AMBA.

While the vaccination campaign continues, the Secretary of Access to Health,
Carla Vizzotti
assured that Argentina will "have enough vaccines to vaccinate the population at risk."
In addition, he stressed that the country "is clearly in a favorable situation, because it has negotiated the contracts on time" to obtain the doses.
The official said that the Russian laboratory "Gamaleya has reported that it is scaling production and, although it has a delay of around two weeks, it has secured the supply for Argentina."
Speaking to Public Television, Vizzotti said that work is being done "to advance as many doses as possible from other laboratories."
In this sense, he argued that the country "is clearly in a favorable situation, because it has negotiated contracts on time and has made contracts that are called 'at risk', obviously, evaluating vaccines that had a favorable projection of phase three and that is why, with signed contracts, the delay is one or two weeks. "
Vizzotti assured that between February and March "the vaccines from Russia will arrive, those from AstraZeneca, which are being produced between Argentina and Mexico" and added that they are "negotiating to see if there is any other possibility as well."
