The United States has passed the threshold of 450 thousand deaths due to the coronavirus: this is what emerges from the counts of Johns Hopkins University.
According to the American university to date, the deaths from Covid-19 in the country are 450,681 against a total of 26,554,792 cases of contagion.
On January 19, the US had exceeded 400 thousand victims.
Almost half of the deaths caused by the coronavirus globally, or over 1.1 million, are concentrated in only five countries: this is what emerges from data from Johns Hopkins University. The United States passed the 450,000 death mark, with an increase of over 50,000 in just two weeks. And with this toll, the total number of victims of the top five countries for the highest number of deaths rises to 1,103,734, almost half of the total death toll recorded in the world since the beginning of the pandemic (2,268,691). In addition to the US, which has 450,681 deaths, the other four countries are Brazil (227,563), Mexico (161,240), India (154,703) and the United Kingdom (109,547).
