(ANSA) - ANCONA, 04 FEB - The extraordinary commissioner, Giovanni Legnini, today delivered to Parliament the package of proposals for the use of the resources of the Recovery fund and of European programming funds to strengthen the reconstruction, not only material, of the affected Central Italy from the earthquakes of 2009 and 2016. "In all, - explains the commissioner structure - the package is worth 4.7 billion euros. Of these, 1.78 billion are provided for in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, at the basis of the Recovery Fund projects, and are aimed specifically at the 'Regeneration of the earthquake areas' ".

"Another 2.95 billion euros - adds the commissioner structure - are foreseen, for the same areas of Central Italy, from the programming resources of the European structural funds for 2021-2026".

"Beyond these resources, the areas affected by the earthquake - Commissioner Legnini said today in a hearing in the Chamber - naturally have access to all the horizontal measures envisaged by the Recovery and other measures of a general nature put in place, with respect to which we ask that you either, for the areas of the earthquake, an explicit reserve quota, or an indication of priority ".

The document developed by the commissioner with the Casa Italia Department, underlines that the new resources, including Recovery and EU Funds, must necessarily be considered "additional and complementary" to those already available for Central Italy for public reconstruction (2.2 billion euros already committed, plus 1.7 billion euros just allocated by the 2021 Budget Law) and for the private one, which currently amount to 6 billion euros ".
