(ANSA) - ROME, FEBRUARY 04 - Filming of 'Madres paralelas', the new film by Pedro Almodóvar, will begin at the end of March, once again working with his fetish actress Penelope Cruz.
The cast, announced today, also includes Aitana SanchezGijon, Milena Smit and Israel Elejalde, as well as two other muses of the Spanish director, Rossy de Palma and Julieta Serrano.
'With Madres paralelas I return to the female universe, to the motherhood, to the family.
I speak of the importance of ancestors and descendants.
The inevitable presence of memory ', the director explained.
'There are a lot of mothers in my film,' he added.
'The ones that are part of this story are very different.'
Almodóvar, who confessed to being more inspired by 'imperfect mothers', revealed that the new film 'will be drama, intense'.
