Promo "Master Chef Season 9" (Rainbow 12)

After a hard coma we got some action and culinary in this week's episode, but even the members of Master Chef did not believe their content, so much so that they decided to sell in the promos the lighting glitch that occurred in the filming (below) as the highlight of the episode.

There is a situation where they too are tired of rolled eggplants and beetroot soup.

The question is when will they get tired of homemade patties that people bring to audition, and how has that not happened so far?

food

to fill eggplant rolls this week was Hadar Kuriel, a housewife and mother of three who dreams of a sous-chef in the kitchen she nursed after her.

For the opening dish she served eggplant cannelloni stuffed with locus kebab, over a spicy sauce.

Seemingly a combination that looked like a piece of risk, but it worked for her and the dish was delicious.

Eggplant cannelloni appearing in the first act probably marks the appearance of the patties in the last act, and so we got a pot of homemade and fried chicken patties that lacked salt, in an audition that was lacking in interest, and ended quite surprisingly in an apron.

And that's even before the first defeat

Another audition that actually ended in failure was that of Boaz, a hitmaker who returned to the sources and became a beekeeper.

His audition, which lasted only a few minutes, flooded with a very interesting environmental issue that doesn’t get much on stage, and is worth dwelling on.

It started with his insistence on looking for the ugliest beets in the field and making the dish out of it.

"I'm here to cook with bent vegetables," he explained.

Yes, the beauty ideal applies not only to Instagram models but also to fruits and vegetables, and it is estimated that half of them - here in the country - are discarded and not sold just because they are not aesthetically pleasing enough for us.

And it's in a country that everyone sees their toes in the summer, yeah?

And who will save the eggplant?

Joel, a pharmacist at a pharmaceutical company, brought us back to the incarnations and prepared eggplant cannelloni stuffed with ground chicken in Indian curry for the entree.

Aharoni recognized that it was a pharmacist, Eyal recognized that he went through several crises in life - and Joel, who had a hard time believing they recognized it all on their own and thought they got a tip from the production (among us, who did not), told about life and his decision to invest 40 years. .

Truth be told, fan.

For the second course, he served Chinese Potstickers sauces in the soy sauce (based on soy and a salty-sweet taste), on a peanut satay sauce that actually draws its origins from Indonesia.

The combination of the two sauces and also the fact that it was a bit rushed - the dumplings are fried in oil for crispiness and then steamed - caused a disagreement among the judges.

The dish looked good, but Aharoni, who a few minutes earlier had passed on fun-fried chicken patties, chose to give up.

Lucky the others came to their senses and moved him.

Grandma Babi's borscht.

"Master Chef"

The last audition in the episode (keep your fingers crossed that it will also be the last of the season), was signed by Ren Greenberg, who chose to make Grandma Babi's borscht.

Unlike previous borschts we’ve seen (and we’ve seen quite a few of them), he tried to dish and serve in a modern way.

The truth?

It worked out well for him.

Greenberg, who said his dream is a small Michelin-starred restaurant in the Golan Heights with five tables (good luck with that) used mostly the soup liquid, and it was indeed full of flavor and beautifully successful.

Not a trivial matter when it comes to peasant soup that contains cabbage and beets.

A minute after entering the second test, a lighting malfunction occurred in the studio that caused Michal to come up with an idea that maybe Grandma Babi's ghost came to visit.

According to the way her grandson talked about her, Grandma Babi is still alive, and so is her food.

Indeed, for the second dish he made a Kaposta testa - a Hungarian dish of pasta with cabbage that he changed a little and used nokdali - in Hungarian dumplings.

Greenberg passed and not by grace, even though the judges, even in this case, made life difficult for him.

Aharoni did not move again, Eyal was angry at first that his dish was "simplicity of a modern show" and collapsed the world into himself out of unconsciousness, but absorbed the passion and hand that this guy has.

Haim, who actually passed easily, explained unequivocally that "in the food of yesteryear there was more truth," because there were seasons that dictated what was cooked.

Too bad there is no season for patties and eggplant rolls either, maybe season 9 (and from us) would have been saved a few precious hours.

The bites were juicy, the meat remained dry
