Covid-19 in France: 296 deaths and 22,139 new cases in 24 hours

This Friday, Public Health France reported 22,139 new contaminations identified in the last 24 hours, in France.

Thursday, over the same period, 23,448 new cases had been identified.

A week ago, 22,858 contaminations had been recorded.

In terms of hospitalizations, 27,572 beds are occupied this Friday, throughout France, due to Covid-19.

There were 27,766 the day before, 27,270 a week ago.

Some 1,719 patients have been hospitalized in the past 24 hours.

1,752 had been the day before, over the same period.

Among the hospitalized patients, 3,235 are in an intensive care unit.

There were 3,240 the day before and 3,120 seven days ago.

255 people have been admitted there in the last 24 hours, against 275 the day before over the same period.

296 deaths in 24 hours

On the hospital death front, 296 patients have lost their lives in the last 24 hours due to the new coronavirus, according to figures from Public Health France.

As of Thursday, over the same period, 360 people had died.

Seven days ago, 356 people lost their lives to Covid-19.

In total, since the start of the epidemic, at least 49,670 people have died in hospitals and nursing homes.
