The level of education in Argentine schools during the coronavirus pandemic was uneven.

There were schools that

managed the bond with their students better than others

, both in the public and private systems.

The case of Nacional de Buenos Aires and Carlos Pellegrini did not escape the general laws.

Especially the case of the first of these schools was the axis in the last hours of a controversy that grew on social networks.

The

tweets of the journalist and writer Josefina Licitra

on February 3 lit the fuse: “Last year was shameful.

My son had 4 hours of zoom in the whole year.

The rest were links, pdf's and references to YouTube videos that were more or less sharp depending on the desire - uneven - that each teacher put.

My complaint is not against them but towards the institution that houses them ”aroused the

controversy about the operation of the National School of Buenos Aires (CNBA) during the pandemic

, to which voices of other parents and mothers whose children suffered the same problem were added : the

lack of classes by zoom

.

Asked about the delay in the opening of the virtual campus,

Valeria Bergman

, rector of the CNBA, said, “As

soon as the school year began, we had the virtual campus

in which the 2,400 students and the 500 teachers that we have enrolled.

There was a weekly schedule where all our teachers planned their contents and communicated with each division through the platform ”.

Regarding whether there was resistance from certain teachers to the use of new technologies, he said “

all year long, teachers gave classes through Zoom or with different resources.

Each teacher was free of the modality in which they dictated their content

but used all the platforms to get closer to the children.

Most of the teachers have become friends with technology because it was the way to communicate with their students ”.

Asked about the debate that was generated on Twitter,

Oscar García

, Secretary of Secondary Education of the UBA, replied: “When we talk about the National School of Buenos Aires we are talking about a school that has 2,300 students, with which we are talking about around 4,600 parents.

There would be a debate if you have a critical mass of 250 to 400 parents who are making the institutional proposal in front of the school

but the truth is that that does not happen ”.

Regarding whether there were classes by Zoom, he answered “the first semester we had failures because he caught us by surprise but by the

second semester

, we had it quite resolved.

The zoom classes were done

and as in any institution, we had to face education in virtual environments with teachers, some highly trained, others more or less and others who were not and understood the zooms as consultation classes ”.

With respect to the lack of return in some works, he replied “the works that were sent to do had their respective weekly or biweekly returns and this gave rise to the individual evaluation of each student that was reflected in the bulletin.

At the end, two newsletters were handed out discriminating the academic situation of each student.

If they had any protest, they should have done it at the time

, I wonder that they do it at this moment before the start of classes ”.

As for the start date of classes, the UBA issued a statement indicating that the school year will begin on March 22 for first-year students in the schools of the University of Buenos Aires, and the pedagogical modality would be mixed, between virtual and face-to-face.

For the rest of the levels, the starting date will be March 29.
