DECRYPTION - Certain sectors, sometimes hit hard by the health crisis, nevertheless show significant labor needs.


Faced with the destruction of jobs, everyone is far from being in the same boat.

While some sectors - like the automobile, aeronautics or, much more generally, tourism - are paying the full brunt of the economic consequences of the crisis, others on the contrary are already showing, and even longer term, significant labor requirements.

This duality may seem surprising given the magnitude of the shock that has affected the French economy in recent months and the level of unemployment (6 million registered in the first three categories of Pôle Emploi), but which is verified empirically.

“Unlike previous crises which revealed structural weaknesses in certain parts of the economy and caused most activities to drop in cascade, that of 2020 is linked to an exogenous factor.

It is therefore far from causing a homogeneous shock on the labor market.

Which means that there are therefore winners and losers, ”
