The house of the serial killer Buffalo Bill from the thriller "The Silence of the Lambs" becomes a hotel.
Film decorator Chris Rowan bought the property for $ 290,000 and plans to convert it into a tourist attraction with overnight accommodation this year, his spokeswoman for the AFP news agency said.
The 1910-square-foot home is located in Perryopolis, a suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Overnight guests can visit the original locations of the film: Much of the interior from the five-star thriller from 1991 is said to be still there.
The new owner, who specializes in furnishing movie sets, also plans to recreate Buffalo Bill's shabby workshop and build a replica of the fountain in which the serial killer keeps his victims prisoner.
There is no fountain in the house because the film scenes were shot in a studio.
The real estate agent Eileen Allan confirmed to AFP that she had sold the property to Rowan, she had published a recording of the interior on the video platform YouTube.
The house had changed hands five years earlier, at a price of $ 195,000.
Before that, it hadn't found a new owner for a long time.
