A 26-year-old from Kassel is said to have put together two flocks of sheep through theft.

After intensive investigations, the police discovered around a hundred sheep and lambs on two pastures in North Rhine-Westphalia and Hesse, as announced by the police and public prosecutor in Kassel.

The man is said to have stolen from pastures in the northern Hessian districts of Kassel, Schwalm-Eder and Waldeck-Frankenberg not only sheep, but also fences, electric fence devices and ear tags and traded them.

Pasture fences discovered on the Internet

The investigators have already been able to assign 31 of the animals found in Marsberg and Niestetal to two corresponding thefts from last November.

The police in Hesse and in the North Rhine-Westphalian Hochsauerlandkreis on the trail of the alleged sheep thief came through tips from robbed sheep owners and other witnesses.

Among other things, the witnesses discovered allegedly stolen pasture fences on a classifieds portal on the Internet and informed the investigators about it.

The suspect is silent on the allegations, the investigation continues.
