The award-winning actor Christopher Plummer is dead. The "Sound of Music" star died at the age of 91 in his home in Connecticut, as the news agency AP and the portal "Hollywood Deadline" report.

For his role in »Beginners«, which appeared in 2010, Plummer won an Academy Award in 2012 at the age of 82, no other award winner in history was older.

In 50 years as an actor, Plummer played countless roles, and in 2009 he gave the villain his voice in the animated film »Above«.

Among other things, he also played in the 2011 thriller "Verblendung".
