(ANSA) - ROME, FEBRUARY 06 - We look to the future in the February TV series, whether it is the dystopian science fiction of Ridley Scott who lands on Sky, or the one proposed by Amazon with Soulmates or the post-apocalyptic one of Netflix with Tribes of Europa.
The highly anticipated Raised by Wolves - A new humanity that sees Ridley Scott for the first time grappling with a TV series, already renewed for a second season, arrives on Sky Atlantic and Now TV from 8 February.
Scott is here as producer and director (from the first two episodes).
The series, of great visual impact, tells of two androids, Mother (Amanda Collin) and Father (Abubakar Salim), who escaped from a land devastated by the militant atheists and a religious order of Christian origin, that of the Mithraics, to colonize the planet Kepler-22b .
Androids carry human embryos with them to start a new civilization.
Twelve years later, only one child, Campion, survived.
As the prospects for the colony's future look bleak, the three will discover that they are not the only refugees from Earth in this part of the universe.
Together with them, a human colony has landed on the virgin planet.
Among them are members of the religious order and atheists, such as Marcus, played by Travis Fimmel (Vikings).
As the human colony threatens to be destroyed by sectarian differences, the landroids learn that controlling the beliefs of humans is a daunting and treacherous task.
Also from February 8, Soulmates on Amazon Prime Video is an anthological series set in 15 years, when a scientific discovery will have changed the lives of everyone on the planet: a test that unequivocally establishes who is your sweetheart.
Each of the six episodes has a different cast and explores various stories that revolve around the discovery or not of the test result and its impact on a multitude of relationships.
The series is written by Emmy award-winning author Will Bridges (Stranger Things, Black Mirror) along with BrettGoldstein.
Netflix has been offering Tribes of Europa from February 19, set in 2074: Europe has been devastated by a mysterious global catastrophe.
Triggering the struggle for dominance is the larivality among the European tribes of survivors.
