The family had been stranded in the shelter because the road to Christ the Redeemer was disabled by a snowstorm in the mountains.
The "High Mountain Special Group", dependent on Squadron 27 "Uspallata", intervened in the assistance operation.
When requesting the identifications, the gendarmerie personnel verified that all have Venezuelan nationality and are seeking to go to Chile.
After the assistance, the Gendarmería reported that it intervened to take them to a safer place and give them health care.
Specifically, the family was transferred to the "Cristo Redentor" Security Section of the National Gendarmerie.
