Davide Shorty is one of the eight young artists competing with the song Regina between New Proposals at the Sanremo Festival, which after some uncertainty was confirmed from 2 to 6 March, albeit without public and among stringent security measures.

"Music as a show must go on, even in this critical moment. It will not be easy to perform in an empty hall and not be able to have any human contact, but Sanremo is a piece of Italian history and then our sector deserves to be treated with dignity. great responsibility ", says the 31-year-old Shorty (stage name from the surname Sciortino) who agrees with those asking for the reopening of the theaters.
"Among those who decide, more competent people and a different consideration of who is an artist would be needed," adds he, who has moved to London for about ten years and has a disenchanted look at Italy.
Shorty is certainly not a rookie.
His name has been around for a while and in 2015 he came third at X Factor, obtaining quite a success (and publishing his first real album, Straniero, the following year, followed by the Turin collective of the Funk Shui Project in 2018 Terapia di Gruppo and in 2019 The Solution).
Now he starts from Sanremo.
