(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 07 - Seven confirmed deaths have so far been confirmed following the collapse of the Himalayan glacier that plunged into the Dhauliganga river, in the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand. The news was reported by the State Disaster Management Center quoted by the Times of India, specifying that the bodies were recovered by rescuers.
"I am constantly monitoring the unfortunate situation in Uttarakhand. India is with Uttarakhand and the nation prays for the safety of all. I constantly speak with local authorities and receive updates on relief operations," Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on Twitter. (HANDLE).
