(ANSA) - ROME, FEBRUARY 07 - One of the most important and award-winning cinematographers of Italian and international cinema, Giuseppe Rotunno, known as Peppino, died at the age of 97 in his home in Rome.
A great collaborator of directors such as Fellini, among others in Casanova, Satyricon, Amarcord, E la nave va, and Visconti (The white nights, Rocco and his brothers, Il gattopardo, The stranger), he was nominated for an Oscar in 1980 for All that jazz by Bob Fosse.
Among the many awards won, there are also seven Silver Ribbons, two David di Donatello's plus the special one of the Cinquantenaire.
