"Today in Italy the Day for Life is celebrated on the theme 'Freedom and life'. I join the Italian bishops in remembering that freedom is the great gift that God has given us to seek and achieve our own good and that of others, to starting from the primary good of life. Our society must be helped to heal from all attacks on life, so that it is protected in every phase ".

Thus the Pope, with the addition of his "concern": "for the Italian demographic winter. In Italy births have dropped and the future is in danger".

"Let this demographic winter end and a new spring of boys and girls flourish."

After the long months in which, due to the restrictions due to the Covid emergency, he recited the Angelus live video from the Library Room of the Apostolic Palace, without the presence of the faithful, today Pope Francis has returned to look out of the study window of the papal apartment to recite the Marian prayer with the faithful and pilgrims gathered in St. Peter's Square.

"Another time in the square!", The Pope said, in his first words, to the faithful in St. Peter's Square, not very numerous also because of the rainy day.

"I am happy to see you gathered in the square again, even the regular ones, the Spanish nuns who are good, always, with rain, with sun are there. Even the children of the Immaculate Conception. All of you. I'm happy!".

With these words, Pope Francis, at the end of the Angelus, greeted the faithful gathered in St. Peter's Square despite the rainy day, on the Sunday when, after the long months in which, for the Covid emergency, he recited the Marian prayer live video from the closed Library of the Apostolic Palace, has returned to look out of the window on the square.
