The scenario:
State of emergency among the paramedics.
After the murder of a paramedic, Gorniak (Karin Hanczewski) and Winkler (Cornelia Gröschel) investigate between rescue workers on the verge of a nervous breakdown.
On the street, the helpers are regularly greeted by hatred, and they often lack the necessary resources when they are on the job.
Right in the middle: the young mother Greta Blaschke (Luise Aschenbrenner), who feels worn out between childcare, shift work and junk attacks.
The highlight:
The stress test as a permanent condition.
The shooting took place with interruptions in the first few months of the corona crisis in 2020, when there were in some cases no developed hygiene concepts in the film and television industry.
Even without direct Corona references in the plot, the overload of the medical staff in crisis mode resonates in this "crime scene".

The picture:
Blood oozing from a child's throat into a plastic tube in slow motion.
The paramedic tries to intubate a girl after an allergic shock, but tears open her windpipe.
The child, who is as old as the paramedic's own daughter, dies under her hands.
The dialogue:
At the end of a long shift, a depressed rescue worker talks to one of the inspectors about her daily work.
Paramedic: »We are a rolling pharmacy for drug addicts. There comes a call at night. We're going to a secluded parking lot. We don't have a choice. And then there's a guy waiting with a knife. Do you want to see something? (Shows scar on neck.) Carotid artery, four millimeters missing. I was lucky then. "
Commissioner: "Could the perpetrator be identified?"
Paramedic: “Investigate, convict, and he's seated. But what's the point? There are tons of guys like that out there. "
The song:
»Somebody« by Depeche Mode: The early analogue ballad of the synth emos is playing while the rescue worker finally has another date after she has put her daughter to bed.
But the guy leaves quickly, the woman is left alone with alcohol and pills.
End of the line longing.
