Now that those under 65 can be vaccinated, Olivier Véran, traveling to a vaccination center in Melun (Seine-et-Marne), received his first injection against the coronavirus this Monday morning.
The Minister of Health, who is also a doctor and visits caregivers almost every day, received the first dose of AstraZeneca.
He is the first member of the government to do so.
The Anglo-Swedish vaccine, developed with the University of Oxford, was authorized by the High Authority of Health last Tuesday.
It has been available since this weekend in France for caregivers, firefighters and home helpers under 65.

To justify this gesture, the minister's entourage explained to the Parisian that it was a question of "setting an example and reassuring people resistant to the vaccine".
Traveling to Meulun hospital, Olivier Véran was vaccinated this morning with an Astra zeneca injection, “to set an example and reassure people who are resistant to the vaccine,” said entourage.

"We will have some two million doses of AstraZeneca during the month of February", he added a little later.
Being myself a caregiver under 50, I agreed to receive the first injection.
I invite all caregivers to do it ", he assured, adding to wear the mask, continue to wash the hands with hydroalcoholic gel," in short, I do not relax vigilance ".
In nine to twelve weeks, Olivier Véran will come to receive his second dose of vaccine.
