, the European Citizens' Initiative to propose a tax on CO2 emissions to the European Commission.
The European Citizens' Initiative (ECI) is an instrument envisaged by the EU Treaties and with one million signatures it obliges the Commission to express itself on a subject.
StopGlobalWarming.eu calls for a European minimum price for CO2 emissions to be established and for the revenues to be used for the ecological transition and to lower taxes on labor.
The deadline for reaching one million signatures is April 22, 2021, World Earth Day.

', takes up an idea of 27 Nobel Laureates and is signed by Mogens Lykketoft, President of the UN General Assembly at the time of the Paris agreements, Navy Pillai, former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and hundreds of artists and intellectuals.
In Italy, over twenty municipalities have decided to support the initiative, alongside other European cities such as Munich, Frankfurt, Dublin, Dortmund and others.
With tens of millions of Europeans already convinced in the priority of combating global warming, the goal of collecting at least one million signatures would be easily achievable if only it became the goal of all municipalities seeking a sustainable way for their community, often without finding sufficient listening in the national political debate.
