Boris Johnson's government has formalized the expected new squeeze on the borders to try to prevent the importation of new variants of Covid from abroad.

The Minister of Health Matt Hancock confirmed this to the House of Commons, illustrating the introduction of measures that from Monday provide for the obligation of another 2 tampons (after 2 and 8 days from entry), in addition to the one on departure, for anyone is authorized to travel to or re-enter the United Kingdom from any country in the world, in a hotel or at home, during the already planned 10-day quarantine: quarantine that will no longer be possible to halve to 5 days with a first negative test.

Not only mega fines, but also criminal consequences in GB starting next week for any recurring violations of the new reinforced anti Covid regulations imposed on those traveling in the country in order to limit the risk of importing variants of the coronavirus.

This was announced by Minister Matt Hancock, evoking fines from 500 to 10,000 pounds for offenders and up to 10 years in prison for repeat offenders.

Travelers arriving from 33 countries (excluding Italy) who are required to isolate themselves in supervised hotels, and not at home, will also be charged costs of £ 1750 for food, accommodation, transport and testing.
