(ANSA) - BOLOGNA, 09 FEB - More than 17 years after the arrests for the Parmalat crash Fausto Tonna, former financial director of the group and at the time the right hand of Calisto Tanzi, is back in jail.
It is the consequence of the order issued by the Public Prosecutor of Bologna after the Supreme Court which declared inadmissible the appeal against the sentence of the Bologna Court of Appeal of 19 December 2020, when the overall sentence for the former manager was defined in eight years, 11 months and 16 days.
It was the calculation of the continuation between three different processes, all linked to the Collecchio group: the crash, Parmatour and the Milanese trial for stock-taking.
Tonna's defender, lawyer Concetta Miucci, contacted by ANSA, said he did not want to make any merit statements.
Arrested in December 2003, during the investigation he collaborated with the investigators, providing useful information to understand the financial devices that had allowed the group to conceal its state of insolvency.
He has been in jail since January 15.
