(ANSA) - ROME, FEBRUARY 09 - On October 3, 2009 in Afghanistan 400 Taliban unleash a harsh attack on Cop (CombatOutpost) Keating, an American combat outpost near Kamdesh in the province of Nuristan.

The fort is fiercely defended by 53 US soldiers, who have lacked support forces for the hour.

A bloody clash, which caused 8 deaths and 27 injuries among the Americans and over 150 deaths among the Taliban.

Events retraced by the bestseller by CNN journalist Jake Tapper, in the book The Outpost: An Untold Story of American Valor and brought to the big screen by Rod Lurie, with The Outpost, war movie starring Scott Eastwood and Caleb Landry Jones in the roles of chosen sergeants Clinton Romesha and TyMichael Carter, who received Medals of Honor from Obama for their value in Kamdesh.

In the cast of the film, released in the US in the summer and soon in Italy with Eagle Pictures, among others also Orlando Bloom, Jack Kesy, Milo Gibson and indei cameo, some soldiers who really fought in the Keating outpost.

"I was part of the army - says Rod Luri in the online meeting organized by The Wrap - and a filmmaker who served in the Armed Forces would never say no to a film like this. It is too important a story for our soldiers and veterans".

Scott Eastwood, 34 year old son of Clint, who has already played soldiers several times in his career, thought for a while before accepting: "Rod convinced me with passion for this project," explains the actor, who was able to have with the true Clinton Romesha, just a two-hour telephone conversation, because the former soldier is tied, with the book of memoirs he wrote about the battle (entitled 'RedPlatoon', ed), to another film project in preparation.

"In those two hours of conversation with him I potutoesplorare who she was when it happened and who is now, comequesti the facts have changed, what had to face -says Eastwood -. It was essential to reflect the truth.

When you tell a real character like him you can't be totally free. You want to do justice to a person like him and to what happened. "
