Like several other departments in France, the Loiret is setting up a traveling vaccination center.
The community has been loaned a vehicle by the firefighters and will mobilize its own staff to ensure vaccination.
These are doctors and nurses from the maternal child protection service, who usually already provide immunizations for children and babies.
The aim is above all to strengthen vaccination in rural areas by providing a solution to all those who cannot move around town, in the centers located in Orléans, Montargis, Fleury-les-Aubrais, Pithiviers, Gien and soon Beaugency, which will open on February 15th.
“I had launched this idea at the beginning of January but it could not be put into practice for lack of available vaccines.
We will now be able to get as close as possible to the territories, starting with the area north of Orleans, towards Patay, Artenay or Neuville-aux-Bois ”, explains the president of the departmental council, Marc Gaudet.
Fill the holes in the map
The tours are scheduled to start "February 16 or 17" and will last for several weeks.
The truck will be equipped to transport and store the doses and ensure the administrative follow-up of patients.
But the vaccination will be done in a separate room, made available by the municipality.
"This will make it possible to fill holes in the vaccination card even if there are still some white areas", welcomes the General Secretary of the Prefecture Thierry Demaret, who welcomes "a major effort by the department".
