Peter Madsen has already been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of journalist Kim Wall.
Now he has received another prison sentence in Denmark.
The 50-year-old was sentenced to one year and nine months imprisonment by the court in Glostrup, Denmark, for attempting to escape from a prison near Copenhagen.
During his brief escape, he had taken a psychologist hostage, threatened prison workers and later tried to steal a vehicle.
Madsen had confessed to trying to escape and said he had been planning his escape for a year and a half.
He accepted the verdict, as the court confirmed.
Madsen tried on October 20 to break out of Herstedvester detention center in Albertslund, around 15 kilometers west of Copenhagen.
His escape only lasted a few minutes before the police stopped him near the prison.
Madsen was sentenced to life imprisonment in April 2018 for the murder of Swedish journalist Kim Wall in 2017 on a submarine he had constructed.
Madsen had killed the 30-year-old Swede inside the submarine.
According to the verdict, he had tortured her with sexual motive and thrown overboard after her death.
Madsen did not admit the murder during the trial either, but admitted that Wall died on board.
He admitted to chopping up the body and throwing it into the water.
Wall had planned to write a report about Madsen, his submarine "Nautilus" and his rocket experiments.
On the evening of August 10, 2017, she left Copenhagen on board the submarine.
Her body parts were later found in the Køgebucht south of the Danish capital.
