A royal addition to the family in Great Britain: Queen's granddaughter Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank have become parents to a boy.

The Buckingham Palace announced.

31-year-old Eugenie posted a picture on Instagram showing two big hands and a very small hand.

The princess did not comment - and only labeled the picture with three blue hearts

Mother and baby are both doing well, the palace said in the message.

Brooksbank, 35, was present at the birth at Portland Hospital in London that morning.

It is the couple's first child.

Queen Elizabeth, her husband Prince Philip and the parents Eugenies, Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew are "delighted" with the news.

What the boy should be called and whether he will receive a royal title is not yet known.

He is already the Queen's ninth great-grandson.
