Australia confirms the tsunami after the earthquake in the Pacific

SYDNEY, 10 FEB - The Australian Bureau of Meteorology has confirmed that the 7.7-magnitude earthquake that hit the South Pacific generated a tsunami. (HANDLE)


(ANSA-AFP) - SYDNEY, 10 FEB - The Australian Office of Meteorology has confirmed that the 7.7 magnitude earthquake that hit the South Pacific generated a tsunami.


   "Tsunami confirmed," reads a tweet warning of a "threat" to Lord Howe Island which is approximately 550km (340 miles) east of the Australian mainland.
