The cost of remote work varies greatly depending on the situation of the French, according to a study by the firm ConvictionsRH.

Between 13 and 186 euros per month.

Such is the cost of remote work, according to a study by ConvictionsRH for Le Parisien.

For several days, the government has been asking the French to re-mobilize to work remotely, noting a relaxation.

Teleworking is “

imperative

”, Prime Minister Jean Castex recalled during his last press conference.

According to a Harris Interactive survey carried out for the Ministry of Labor, the share of active teleworkers at 100% has indeed increased from 45% in November to 30% in January.

In its study, ConvictionsRH thus establishes a very wide range of remote work expenses, for “

complete

teleworking”.

“, That is to say five days out of five.

ConvictionsRH's calculations take into account the consumption of electricity, gas and water, but not the rent or the internet and telephone bill.

Costs related to transport, furniture, IT equipment, supplies and catering are also included in the calculation.

All these conditions therefore imply a multitude of scenarios, which explains a very wide range of expenses.

For the lower range, the practice takes the example of a person whose home is 50m² and is heated by gas.

This person does not consume a hot drink, his meal expenses are covered by the meal voucher card, he has not purchased furniture or additional computer equipment and does not use any supplies.

In such a case, the costs of teleworking amount to 13.4 euros per month, for 20 days of remote work.

On the contrary, for the high range, the expenses related to teleworking would be 186 euros per month, with in parallel costs related to supplies, 88.13 euros per year, to which are added 402.88 euros of single purchase for furniture and computer equipment.

In this case, ConvictionsRH takes the example of an individual whose home is 200m² with electric heating.

This employee consumes two capsule coffees per day, which are usually free on company premises.

His meal expenses are at his expense.

He also bought supplies, not reimbursed by the employer (two packs of pens, a ream of printing paper, two notebooks and two packs of ink cartridges), as well as furniture and computer equipment said. of comfort, also not reimbursed (desk, chair, shelf, lamp, screen, mouse, keyboard, headset and printer).

However, ConvictionsRH reminds that what is already reimbursed or made available by the employer in normal times must be taken into account.

This study once again raises the question of reimbursement by the employer.

"

The general principle is that it should not cost the employee to be teleworking

", further assured the Minister of Labor, Elisabeth Borne, on February 5, at the microphone of France Bleu Paris.

To date, reimbursement by the employer is not compulsory.

On the other hand, the collective agreement or the charter on teleworking in the company can provide for reimbursement by the employer.
